Providing basic and up-to-date knowledge and skills in toxicology, biological forensics and other related sciences
1- For admission to the department’s fee-paid master’s programs, the applicant must have a university degree from a Saudi university or from a university recognized by the Ministry of Education in the relevant disciplines, including those holding scholarships for postgraduate studies.
2- The grade is not less than good at the university level.
3- Passing the personal interview as determined by the department.
The student must pass 39 credit hours for the academic courses in addition to 6 credit hours for the graduation research project (total 45 credit hours).
Mission:

Objectives:
1- Prepare students scientifically and support them with basic knowledge in biology and the science fields of toxicology, biochemistry, pathology, molecular biology and forensic science.
2- Develop the theoretical and practical skills of students to be qualified for specific positions in the field of toxicology and criminal investigation.
3- Training in information technology, effective communication, self-learning, and scientific thinking skills to serve the field of specialization.
4- Enhancing the student’s problem-solving skills using scientific methods, taking into account ethics and societal principles.
Graduate Attributes:
1- Knowledge of Knowledge of consistent and structured biological sciences serving the forensic evidences and that of the criminal scene, and are consistent with the principles of Islamic law,
2- Knowledge of a comprehensive set of foundations, theories and principles relative to the toxicology and forensic sciences from the biological point of view,
3- Familiarity with a broad and integrated range of skills required for effective practice in the field of identifying toxins of various kinds, cytotoxicity and molecular toxicity, and biological investigations in support of forensic evidence and crime scenes,
4- The ability to investigate complex scientific problems and find innovative solutions without guidance from others,
5- The ability to identify and use appropriate statistical and mathematical methods in analyzing and finding solutions to complex issues,
6- The ability to choose and use the most appropriate mechanisms for communicating scientific results to different recipients.

Knowledge :
1- Explaining and understanding the forensic terms, biological and toxicological sciences.
2- General knowledge on the advanced microscopy for livestock body tissues and crime residues.
3- Knowledge on hazards & measurement of all natural vs. synthetic toxins, toxicants or poisons.
4- Presenting analysis for cytotoxicity, cell deaths, carcinogenicity and molecular biology.
5- Understanding the writing of a good technical forensic report solving the mystery of criminal scenes.
Skills:
1- Perfects the interpretation of histopathology and molecular and biochemical assays.
2- Demonstrate the different types of toxins, toxicants and poisons in the form of electronic databases.
3- Employ the toxicology techniques and analysis of genotoxicity and carcinogenicity.
4- Present chemical, serological and molecular methodology of investigation for the forensic evidences.
5- Identify sources of error of different methods used in toxicological tests and solve them perfectly.
