Bachelor of Science in Chemistry

Chemistry is a fundamental science that serves as a cornerstone for driving innovation and scientific and industrial advancement. It contributes directly to vital sectors such as healthcare, environmental protection, engineering, agriculture, and manufacturing industries. Chemists play a pivotal role in improving quality of life by enhancing food safety, designing advanced materials, and addressing major global challenges such as pollution and climate change.

Department of Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry was established in 1977 as a branch of the College of Education at King Saud University in Abha. In 1998, the two university branches in the Asir region, namely, the Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University branch and King Saud University branch, were merged into one university called King Khalid University. Consequently, the College of Education at King Khalid University was renamed as the College of Science where Department of Chemistry was kept as one of its departments.

Department of Physics

The Department of Physics was established in 1396 H as one of the Departments of the College of Education, King Saud University branch in Abha. The first graduates graduated in 1400–1401 H. When King Khalid University was established in the academic year 1419–1420 H the Department of Physics became a part of the Faculty of Science at King Khalid University departments. Many students have graduated from the Department since its inception and joined various government or private jobs.
