Scientific Training Workshop: "Drug Design and Discovery Using Computational Chemistry"

The College of Science Club, in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs, organized a scientific training workshop on Wednesday morning, 22/3/1445 AH, entitled "Drug Design and Discovery Using Computational Chemistry" in Lecture Hall B141-032 at the College of Science building in Al-Faraa. The course was presented by His Excellency Dr. Saleh Al-Arfaji, Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry. The role of computational chemistry and modern technologies in developing the pharmaceutical industry, designing and exploring them was reviewed. The training course was attended by a number of faculty members from various departments of the college, a large number of undergraduate and graduate students, and a number of interested visitors from outside the university, with the number of attendees reaching approximately 50 beneficiaries. To achieve the desired benefit from the training course, it was linked to the female students' section remotely via the Zoom application. The course included a number of questions and inquiries from the attendees about the topic of the event. In the end, all attendees praised the event and its importance by informing students and faculty members of everything new in the field of computational chemistry. The attendees requested that this type of course be activated on an ongoing basis due to its effective role in developing knowledge and keeping pace with modern technologies.
