Prof. Saad bin Dajam… Leadership That Advances Education and Research That Serves Humanity
Professor Saad bin Mohammed bin Ayed bin Dajam’s career combines academic leadership with research excellence. He earned his PhD from the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom, and was appointed Assistant Professor in the Biology Department at King Khalid University’s College of Science in 2006. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2010 and Professor in 2015.
A key milestone in his career was his appointment as Vice President for Academic Affairs in May 2017. He has also held several leadership positions, including Acting President of King Khalid University, Acting Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Vice President for Women’s Colleges, Dean and Vice Dean of Admissions and Registration, and Head of the Biology Department.
His research focuses on parasite immunology and molecular biology, particularly the diagnosis of parasitic diseases endemic to Saudi Arabia and the development of vaccines against certain parasitic diseases. His contributions include scientific publications and genetic discoveries, alongside participation in scientific conferences in Saudi Arabia and abroad.
His institutional contributions extend to committees responsible for student affairs, timetabling, electronic transactions, quality and development, faculty affairs, and community service. He has also been a member of the Saudi Society for Life Sciences, the British Society for Parasitology, the Saudi Society for Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, and the Saudi Society for Biotechnology. These contributions reflect the breadth of his experience and his commitment to integrating education, research, and institutional service.
