مختبر : أبحاث الحفز

مجموعة أبحاث الحفز تقوم بالبحث في مجال الحفز غير المتجانس. ويركز البحث في المجموعة أساسا على تحضير المحفزات غير المتجانسة الجديدة ذات الفعالية العالية والمستقرة باستخدام التقنيات المتطورة مثل صول - جيل، والترسيب، والانحلال الحراري اللهبي، والتشريب، والتطعيم، و / أو تقنية الترسيب. ويتم تقييم الأداء الحفاز للمحفزات. المحضرة في العديد من التطبيقات التحفيزية مثل تحويلات البتروكيماويات ، ومكافحة التلوث البيئي، والطاقة المتجددة والتحويلات الكيميائية الخضراء.

الاهداف :

  • انتاج بحوث عالية الجودة في مجال الحفز غير المتجانس بما يجذب تعاونا بين المجموعة وبين الشركات ذات العلاقة.
  • نشر مقالات علمية متميزة في الدوريات ذات التأثير العالي مع فرص لبراءات الاختراع.
  • نقل المعرفة والخبرة التجريبية إلي الباحثين الشباب، من خلال توفير فرص بحثية لطلاب مقرر الحركية والحفز في مرحلة البكالوريوس وكذلك لطلاب وطالبات الدراسات العليا.
  • التعاون مع علماء وباحثين من نفس التخصص في جمیع أنحاء العالم لتحقيق المنفعة المتبادلة.
  • نقل التكنولوجيا الحديثة في مجال الحفز إلى جامعة الملك خالد.

Research areas

1- Synthesis and development of catalysts that are used in the petroleum and petrochemical industries, including:

A- Selective oxidation such as that of cyclohexane

B- Hydrogenation such as the reaction of desulfurization by hydrogenation of various fuel compounds

C- Catalytic cracking, such as breaking down naphtha into light olefins

D- Converting heptane into trimethylpentane

E- Converting alkanes into aromatic compounds

2- Synthesis and development of catalysts operating in and from renewable energy

A- Reducing carbon dioxide and converting it to methane or methyl alcohol

B- The catalytic cracking of sulfur dioxide to obtain hydrogen

3- The creation and development of catalysts that work in the field of reducing environmental pollution and from it

A- catalytic cracking of unburned hydrocarbons in cars

B- The complete catalytic conversion of the various nitrogen oxides compounds

1- Contributing to the development of industrial catalytic processes in the field of petrochemicals

2- Creating many new catalysts and submitting them to industry

3- Contributing to solving industrial problems of catalysts such as poisoning

4- Registering patents in the name of the university
